Bridgett Higginbotham has been a licensed Veterinary Technician since 1987 and is the owner and founder of Sirius Canine Fertility. With over 20 years of experience in semen exporting and importing, she is widely known as "the Export Queen" — a title earned through her meticulous attention to detail and unmatched expertise in the field.
Bridgett started Sirius in August of 2000 as a mobile semen freezing and pregnancy ultrasound business. As the business rapidly expanded, she relocated the office three times before purchasing a permanent location in Grass Valley. Today, Sirius Canine Fertility has 6 employees and performs transcervical inseminations (TCIs), artificial inseminations (AIs), semen collections, semen freezing, progesterone testing, and semen exporting and importing all over the world — establishing itself as one of the largest export/import centers in the United States. Sirius is also a regular presence at dog shows, where semen collections, evaluations, and freezes are performed on-site.
Bridgett currently sits on the Examining Committee for Veterinary Reproduction Technicians for NAVTA — a position she shares with only 5 other Technicians across the US and Canada. Qualifications for this distinction include length of time specializing in Canine Reproduction, continuing education dedicated to Veterinary Reproduction, and advanced education in the field.
In addition to her professional work, Bridgett has been a bulldog breeder since 1990 and a licensed AKC judge since 2000, judging both domestically and internationally, including multiple appearances at her National Specialty.
Outside of work, Bridgett enjoys traveling, snowshoeing, and hiking. She is an ASA certified sailor and looks forward to spending much of her semi-retirement years sailing her catamaran around the world. She shares her home with one spoiled American Bulldog named Fallon and three cats.
